LUKE 24:36-39

INTRODUCTION: Angels are spirits [Heb 1:7] and spirits do not have bodies of flesh and blood [Luke 24:36-39]; but Angels have taken on physical forms, lets review a few ways an angel can reveal his presence.

I. Most often they are undetected and must reveal themselves

II. Next often they appear as men- Heb 13:2

     a. Gen 18:1- To Abraham Gen 19:1-5 Sodom

     b. Ex 22:22-34- Balaam’s ass (angel with sword)

     c. Josh 5:213-15 Joshua (man with sword)

     e. Judges 6:1-24 , Judges 13, Zech 1:8-11 Ezek 9:2-7 Etc.....

III. Horses and chariots of fire- 2Kings 6:17 Zech 6:1-8

     a. Horses- Zech 1:8-11 2:1 Isaiah 31:3

     b. Chariots- Psa 68:17

IV. Burning bush- Exodus 3:2

V. Pillar of Cloud and fire- Ex 13:21 14:19

     a. fire: Psa 104:4

VI. Countenance like lighting, white raiment- Matt 28:1-5

VII. Stars- Rev 1:20

VIII. Strange descriptions- Rev 9:2-11 10:2 12:3-4 Ezek 1:3-28 8:2-3

CONCLUSION: Angels take on many forms from the common to exotic
