Finding the date for New Testament depends on locating Jesus' birth and death.  We use Luke to find birth and John's recording how many Passovers during Jesus' ministry to determine death.

Luke 3:1-2

1 Now in the fifteenth year of the reign of Tiberius Caesar, Pontius Pilate being governor of Judaea, and Herod being tetrarch of Galilee, and his brother Philip tetrarch of Ituraea and of the region of Trachonitis, and Lysanias the tetrarch of Abilene, 2 Annas and Caiaphas being the high priests, the word of God came unto John the son of Zacharias in the wilderness. (KJV)

Luke 3:23

23 And Jesus himself began to be about thirty years of age, being (as was supposed) the son of Joseph, which was the son of Heli, (KJV)

Jesus turned thirty around the fifteenth year of Tiberius Caesar- Tiberius reigned from 14 -37 AD. This was around 28AD.

John's ministry starts: 28AD 15th year of Tiberius

Being unable to determine the length of Johns ministry when Jesus starts his at age thirty; an assumption must be made that Jesus started in End of 28AD. The chronology of the ministry of Christ is mostly from the Gospel of John. The date post is from Luke 3.

Calculated timeline from above information: and diagram not included paralleling Jesus age, events, to Dates, starting with 28AD / 30 years of age.

1. We know John started preaching in 28 AD from Luke 3:1

2. Jesus' miracles started prior to the Passover in 29 AD

John 2:1 - Water into wine

John 2:12-13 Passover 1month, 14th day (March or April/Roman) 29AD

3. John 1 indicates months passing between his ministry starting and Miracles

in John 2; including Jesus's baptism and picking of four Apostles.

4. It would be safe to assume Jesus became 30 after John started preaching but well before the Passover in 29; I will assume Jesus turned thirty in late AD28.
